Permanent Fulltime Position – Brisbane CBD, QLD Location 

The Role

The Senior Psychosocial Health and Safety Advisor  will be a health and safety specialist within the Safety Strategy Division’s Psychosocial Health and Safety group. The Psychosocial Health and Safety group provides specialist psychosocial risk management advisory services to the organisation.

You will be an engaging WHS practitioner with experience in providing timely and competent advice to supervisors and managers. Alongside your technical expertise and exemplary people skills you will demonstrate an alignment with the organisations values

Responsibilities include:

• Provide specialist psychosocial WHS advice and guidance with a focus on building capability and promoting organisational development and a prevention-focussed safety culture.
• Provide advice and support to managers and staff on all aspects of psychosocial health and safety, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulation 2011, and other relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards.
• Conduct incident and accident investigations and inspections, including preparation of recommendations and reports.
• Develop, implement, and maintain work health and safety management systems and performance standards which establish compliance with the legislation and Codes of Practice relevant to managing psychosocial hazards and risks.
• Research, design, develop, implement, and evaluate psychosocial health and safety policies, procedures and instructions to support the health and safety management system.
• Assist in the development of complex documentation including submissions, executive briefs, policies, procedures and reports, and review and provide advice on psychosocial health and safety issues and initiatives

The Cndidate

• Demonstrated experience in maintaining a safety management system compliant with ISO45001:2018 and ISO45003:2021
• Demonstrated experience in a similar level role,
• Demonstrated good knowledge of relevant legislation
• Good skills using Microsoft Office suite
