Senior Health and Safety Advisor

Our Client is a Government entity who are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable safety professional who can drive results in a complex and layered service environment.

Contracted Directly till June 30, 2025 – Brisbane CBD, QLD Location 

The Role

The Senior Health & Safety Advisor will be a key member of the Safety and Wellbeing team, promoting and providing a safe and healthy work environment through the development, implementation and evaluation of workplace health and safety systems and initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety systems and performance standards which establish compliance with the relevant legislation.
• Research, design, develop, implement, and evaluate health and safety policies, procedures and instructions to support the health and safety management system.
• Develop complex documentation including submissions, executive briefs, policies, procedures and reports, and review and provide advice on proposals for safety and wellbeing issues and initiatives.
• Develop and conduct presentations, seminars and training programs, and design and implement educational strategies for a diverse range of clients, including executive management.
• Provide advice and support to managers and staff on all aspects of health and safety, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulation 2011, the Safer and Healthier Workplaces Initiative, and other relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards.
